Huawei Nova 7i (also known as Huawei Nova 6 SE or Huawei p40 lite for some region), initially Launched on January 2020 came with EMUI 10 on top of Android 10. It got a Slight Major Update of EMUI 10.1 last year. And officially as per Huawei its Eligible for Harmony OS. This was confirmed as per the update schedule from china where this device is called Nova 6 SE. As per the current schedule the update date is to be on Q3 2021. And we expect the roll out to Global Device to be followed soon.
[Update 16/Nov/2021] : As per Huawei Announcement the International Huawei devices will receive EMUI 12. And as per the List Huawei Nova 7i is eligible for EMUI 12 with release scheduled for First Half of 2022 [H1 2022]. We still don’t have information regarding weather EMUI 12 is based on Android 10 or Harmony OS.

06-Dec : Huawei UAE community officially announced EMUI 12 Beta for Huawei Nova 7i (Also Called Huawei P40 Lite). Beta update is currently limited to UAE and Kuwait. you can check the official Announcement here.
August 2021 :
08-Aug : According to Huawei in China. Huawei Nova 6 SE (which is another name for nova 7i) is now receiving Harmony OS. As for international version its still unknown but it should be pretty soon.
