Indosat Ooredoo rolls out 5G in Jakarta

Indonesia : Indosat Ooredoo, One of the Major Network provider in Indonesia has deployed Commercial 5G Service in Jakarta. The 5G Service from Indosat Ooredoo currently available in the Monas area, Medan Merdeka area, Indosat Office and Karawang Industrial area. And More area will be covered by 5G soon.

In press release Indosat said “The new 5G services will provide Indosat Ooredoo’s consumer and business customers with access to enhanced mobile broadband Internet that will help to accelerate Jakarta’s economic recovery and supporting industry 4.0 era. 5G services will empower a wide range of unique use cases that offer the potential to revolutionize the city’s manufacturing industry, public services, healthcare sector and meet growing demand for digital content and entertainment services over mobile networks.”

Indosat Ooredoo’s President Director and CEO, Ahmad Al-Neama, announced the launch of 5G at an event in Jakarta attended by leading dignitaries, including Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan and Director General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Ismail. Strict health and social distancing protocols were enforced throughout the event.

Indonesia’s Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, said: “We see that the launch of 5G services will greatly assist the recovery period of Indonesia’s industry due to the pandemic. The digital technology support brought by 5G will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the processes needed to accelerate the production of goods and services so that the community can immediately enjoy the benefits. help Indonesia from all sectors to get up quickly and be more resilient to face the future.”

The release also added that it will extend the 5G Service to other major cities in Indonesia, including, Surabaya, and Makassar, where there is high consumer demand for data services.
